Kritika Koirala is a board certified family nurse practitioner and the Lead Nurse Practitioner at Canyon Pain Center. She leads patient care day to day, from new patient evaluations through ongoing follow up visits, and reviews your chart before your visit so you are not retelling your story from the beginning.
Kritika brings more than a decade of clinical practice to pain management, much of it with patients other practices treat as complicated. For eight years she was the full time nurse practitioner for an addiction medicine program in Arlington, Washington, where she built individualized treatment plans for alcohol, benzodiazepine, opioid, and stimulant use disorders, treated the mental health conditions that often accompany them, and managed chronic illness for people who had gone years without steady care. She also cared for patients through acute withdrawal on a hospital chemical dependency unit, and practiced family and internal medicine before that.
That background shapes how she practices here. Pain management asks a clinician to be careful and unhurried with medications, honest about risks, and attentive to the whole person rather than a single symptom, all without making anyone feel judged for the care they need. Kritika has done that work for most of her career, and bringing it to the treatment of pain is the focus of this chapter of it.
She earned her Master of Science in Nursing as a family nurse practitioner from Hawaii Pacific University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Washington. She is board certified through the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and licensed by the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
